Małgorzata Dec-Ćwiek

 

Dr Małgorzata Dec-Ćwiek graduated from Medical School at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in 2007. In 2012 she obtained her PhD degree for the thesis: “Saccadic eye movement abnormalities in Parkinson’s disease treated by levodopa and deep brain stimulation”. In 2014 she obtained Polish Board Certification in Neurology, and since then Dr Dec-Ćwiek has a position of a consultant neurologist in the Department of Neurology at the Jagiellonian University Medical College. Dr Dec-Ćwiek was trained at the Schleswig-Holstein University, Department of Neurology in Kiel, Germany under Prof. Jens Volkmann and at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, United Kingdom under Prof. Kailash Bhatia.
She specializes in movement disorders. Specifically, she has been involved in botulinum toxin therapy and neuromodulation procedures for several years. Her research is focused on Parkinson’s disease, other parkinsonisms and dystonia.
